    What model is a 3" j frame .38 or .357 w a shrouded but still manually cock-able hamr

    What model is a 3" j frame .38 or .357 w a shrouded but still manually cock-able hammer?

I swear I saw one of these once in a botique gun store but I have not been able to find or see one anywhere since.

    Can I get an assist?

    Thanks.

The S&W Bodyguard 38 is their j-frame with a shrouded hammer. I haven't seen one with a 3" barrel but doesn't mean Smith didn't make one.

That looks like an evolution of the original Bodyguard. The hammer is shrouded but the top is exposed for cocking.

I've had one, it's quite a lint magnet for sure.

Get a 60 and bob the hammer down to just a nub for cocking. Easier to find and clean than a shrouded hammer.

They have not made them in years, but you can occasionally find a set of Bianchi Lightning Grips online.

    I have done that with a 2" Model 60 and a 2" Model 64.
