Let me explain it to you. The lad did what he did because of his Christian faith and knowledge of the scriptures. He evidently takes it serious enough that he would give up something that meant a lot to him for the sake of obedience to his Lord. Practicing popular Christianity can so dilute ones commitment to the Lord that in the end you wind up being someone who can't be distinguished from an unbeliever.

Do you know this kid? If you don't then you have no clue what level religion played in his decision. Maybe his parents simple told him to never hit a girl..... Not everyone that is religions is a freak that lets common scene fly out the window for the sake of "religion".

GOD gave you a brain...... use it to think.

I read about this story in other places that talk about his decision being because of his faith.

He stated in the four articles that I read that it was his personal and religious beliefs. At one point he does say that:

"There is something that I really do find problematic about the idea of wrestling with a girl, and a part of that does come from my faith and my belief," he told The Washington Post. "

At no time does he solely state that it was a religious thing. He has never gone on some religious tirade trying to make some ridiculous point. It sounds like he is a well rounded kid and that he makes good decisions based on many factors and he is not a mindless automaton spouting rhetoric.

Stop projecting irrelevant information into this topic.

As a former wrestler in middle, and highschool….I would have had absolutely no problems wrestling a woman.

Moreover, I would have absolutely slaughtered her, near tech fall embarrassed her, used every standing throw I knew on her, and ultimately use extreme force when pinning her after I was done toying with her.

I don't see a problem here, it's a self solving problem if boys, or men will simply treat these women exactly how they tell us they want to be treated. It's no longer a lose lose proposition in society today when you face off competitively against women. They ask to be there, now give them everything they ask for, and enjoy the grin you get after doing it!

I regret not wrestling in high school. I wasted my youth of having smoke machines and strutting out in 80s punker shades wearing a feather boa as Van Halen blasts as my intro music

This thread jogged my memory of something I'm glad I remembered. One year in HS, we had a big wrestling tourney, and one of the schools at this one was a school for the blind. They only had 3 wrestlers/weight class fillers, so I didn't have the opportunity to wrestle one of their students.

That said, few things I've witnessed live were as inspirational, and awesome to see was when I watched a blind wrestler beat a fully abled body, and good wrestler in a match I watched. The able body kid wasn't pulling punches either, he was trying to shoot and score take downs given that's the blind wrestlers vulnerabilities, and yet the kid would sprawl perfectly the moment he sensed contact was coming.

I'm ok with everyone getting a shot at the table up to a reasonable limit, but everyone then at that table plays by the same rules. If I execute a standing headlock throw on a woman, and land with my full weight on her chest, shoulder, and neck....shit will get real fast, and the "statement" she was making simply won't be worth the effort, pain, or significant injury.

I honestly love this idea, especially that female from GA that won a football scholarship to play college football. That is gonna be so awesome to watch if they air her trying to fill a gap on a RB, or when she tries to dislodge a ball from a receiver over the middle. I'd pay to see this type of event. We finally get to punish SJWers, and the current SJW era we live in.

The real problem is though, that our mentally challenged society will make a second set of rules, or standards so that they are protected, and given an unnatural existence in something they shouldn't be in. The current .mil/SF women topic is an example of this. If they can't get in doing it the real way, well just dumb down the standards until they get through.
