The mag pouch, vert grip and bipod are the actuals I used on my first tour as well. The only reason it's not a precise clone is the lack of burst fire and the A2X in place of the A2. (Pin/weld.)
Out of curiosity what does that damn thing weigh?

Yeah that thing looks crazy heavy.

Is this whole thing just a game of aesthetics and modeling? Like you build a M4 copy and hang it on the wall?

Otherwise wouldn't it be easier, cheaper, and result in a more effective gun to just put an Aimpoint PRO and a flashlight on a stock 6920?

I can’t speak for others, but I built my M4-clone to be as close to my issued rifle as possible. The intent is to pass it on so my kids/grandkids can get a sense of what I carried. I don’t use it that often and it mostly just stays with my old deployment kit, but I’m glad it’s there. My non-clone AR carbine is objectively better in almost every way and gets real range/training usage.

Good on you, looking ahead to future generations--even the grave hasn't gotten my uncle off my shitlist for hocking my grandfather's old USAF service sidearm to buy rotgut booze before the body was even cold.

Ain't that the damn truth. Good one.

I cheated and started with a Colt M4A1 SOCOM marked US PROPERTY. It came with the KAC RIS. It came with the MATECH sight, KAC quad rail, KAC rail panels and M4 stock. I had to call Colt for the vertical foregrip.

    I love the roll mark!

The KAC rail panels are just too fat for me. I ordered a set of La Rue rail clips and installed those instead. The M4 waffle stock was replaced with a SOPMOD and the rifle was topped off with an Aimpoint M4s.

The M4s could easily be my favorite RDS, except for it's weight

Blue Force sling. I've tried others, but I keep coming back to the Blue Force

In case anyone is wondering, the grip is a generic brand A2 with the bump shaved off. I can't abide the A2 bump.

The M4A1 SOCOM is a bit heavy and kinda clunky compared to a "stripped down" M4A1, but this one is a laser beam. It hits whatever you put the red dot on.

I don't know off the top of my head the specific figure. I do know it feels like what I remember it weighing.

Yeah that was my goal, closeness with my old issued M4. I still use it for 3-gun on occasion though, cause why not. I rotate rifles every month for 3-gun anyways.

As the OP, I want to take a minute & say "thank you" for all the responses and all the pics. Really is helping me out in determining & deciding what I am going to need to acquire to finish my M4 off. I really do appreciate it!
