I'm looking at just buying an Ares Gear belt and running fairly slick. Holster two pistol mags abd a rifle reload. Probably run a small chest rig also at some point. Anyone else running a similar set up?

That is typically all I use. Belt, OWB or IWB holster, 2-3 pistol mag pouches and run AR mags in my rear pocket.

I'm Currently looking at the Marz Tactical Cobra buckle belt. Has anyone had any experience with them?

Marz makes good gear. No specific experience with the belt though.

Any reason why you are looking at that specific brand? They will all hold your pants up the exact same. Is there any reason you need the metal
V-ring? They are usually worthless for anyone who's not flying around in helo's. If you are looking for just for a gun belt, look at the First Spear AGB, it has a
stiffener sandwiched between the nylon. I have been using the AGB for almost a year now as my primary gun belt.

When I fly I use the V-tac belt which has about the same specs as the Marz however, I would prefer the 215 Gear Ultimate Rigger's Belt, which is never in stock. It still has a loop to attach an Omega locking D-ring but doesn't have the weight of a steel D/V ring (which will eventually rust and destroy your nylon).

I wasn't looking at this brand in particular, I was looking for a good cobra style belt and just happened upon it on SKD. It was a nice price and came in my size, it will be for range an classes, I just have never heard of them before.

Marz is GTG. There are various other makers of cobra belts as well.

Stay away from Jones Tactical, their belts are quality but good luck ever getting one as they never ship, and if they do it is months later. I ordered one in June of last year and still have not received it. I have tried multiple times to inquire and have received no comms. Look in e&e if you want one, otherwise good luck.

FYI, the D-ring on the HSGI belt is retarded huge, and worthless if you don't "need" it.

I'm going to pick uo the 1.5 belt which looks like it doesn't have a D ring.
