Or you could stock up on available Mk318 ammunition, which is *supposedly* right up there with M855A1 in effectiveness.

I completely agree with you. I'm just happy for the continued incremental improvements with issued equipment.

So it would seem that supply isn't the problem, which suggests we probably won't ever get much out on the open market. It's in the same boat as SS190 and Mk211. Completely legal, but tightly controlled by the people who have the patents on it, effectively keeping it out of reach.

Well, around 2025 the patents on M855A1 should run out, but even then, I doubt there will be a big run on it....

Mk262 has a higher BC so for long range precision it has A1 beat. For everything else M855A1 is better.

Do you have a link to primary source? I would like to read the whole paper. Seems odd that it would pass USMC testing but fail Army testing.

The only primary sources I could find actually showed the Pmag was superior in testing.
