More Cows killed with .308s.

This time using my Sako TRG.

Range was right at 400 yards.

Two shots, Two Bang-flops.

My dad and I were done for the season.

It was not until the range exceeded 600 yards have I actually caught a projectile in an elk using a .308.

I will note that I am pretty selective in my shooting, and don't take "low percentage" shots.

The punchline is that the .308 is fine for elk within your self imposed limited range of 300 yards.

I also use a .300 wm during the late season when the ranges can get long, but definitely think that for most people, shooting at typical ranges, the .308 is an excellent choice.
