Met these guys at the boat show. They look good. Anyone heard of them? Any other suggestions for good tactical training in South Florida?

I am always wary of any company that does not post bios of the instructors. How do you know who you're dealing with if you don't have bios and real names to check out the accuracy of those bios?
If you're looking for training in SE Florida, check out the following

All of the instructors are cops, and one of them is a friend of mine. They have an EXCELLENT instructor:student ratio, better than any class I've ever even heard of.

A new company, but not a new guy, and another friend of mine. This one comes from a military and private security contractor background.
I shoot regularly with both of these guys, and have been in training classes with both of them. I will personally vouch for the integrity, knowledge-base, and background of both of them.
And if you want to come out with the duffers, our local IPDA club runs a monthly drills night, pistol and rifle, at Markham Park on the 1st Tuesday of each month. I generally wind up running the drills, and while I wouldn't put myself up there with Jack or Rick, I try to bring what I've learned from various training classes over the years, as well as input and feedback from both of those guys. They are often, one or both, at the drills and have helped run the drills as well. It's a good chance to meet them and see what you think.

Thanks Rob,
I will check out the 2 companies you mentioned. The guy I spoke most to was a Brit called Will, he is the lead instructor. I asking around locally and he has a good reputation (Delray shooting center) He seamed very knowledgeable and was not pushy or gungho at all.
I know there are a lot of wannabees out there, thats why I am doing my research, but he did not strike me that way. He seams the real deal. Apparently he has been teaching firearms for over 20 years.....
I would like to meet , talk to a few people that have take his classes though. Maybe I will ask for a few references....what do you think?
References would be good, as well as what their background is.
Very little training is "bad" in the pure sense. If nothing else you're getting some practice time in.
But with the cost of ammo, and gas, etc. it gets expensive fast, and I prefer to spend my money and time with guys that are giving me more than just practice time.
This outfit appears to have a pretty good relationship with Delray Shooting Center, which would make me instantly toss out Delray's opinion, if I wasn't already tossing it out just for being the opinion of a gun shop.
Come out to our drills sometime. At $25, even if all we give you is practice time at least you only lost $25.
Speaking of references, here's a thread about On Target's classes.

Hi gunman45,
This is rick from Threat Solutions Group. I just read that Rob recommended me to you. Please feel free to call me if you need any information. Also feel free to ask around about my background and how I might be able to help you in your training.
Rob's advice about coming out to our clubs drills is right on. It will give you the opportunity to meet other shooters and me, and not to mention that you'll get a chance to work some drill and maybe learn a thing or two for just $25.00. Honestly, you can't beat it.
Again if there's anything I can help you with just, drop me a note or call me.
All my contact information is on my website.

Take care.
Rick
Yep I want to talk to a few people that have taken a class from them first.
So tell me more about your club shoot, sounds like fun. I am In West Palm Beach so about an hour from Markham Park. What do I need to bring with me and do I have to qualify befor I can shoot?

Hi gunman45,
For the drills, all you need is your pistol with a holster, at least 2 mags and pouches to put them in. For the pistol drills there is no qual, but for the rifle drill there is. Rob runs that part of the club and every now and then he will have a rifle qaul. Without this qual you cant shoot rifle. Pistol you can shoot whenever you want.
Here is the link to the clubs site.

R.
No qual for the rifle drills, only the rifle matches.
Link to the guidelines for drills is in my first post in this thread.

I'm gong to go edit the guidelines to make them more clear.
