    The Tick Season 1 (Review)

Trailers of this show looked like the dumbest thing I ever saw, yet it gets good rating for multiple seasons now. It was not at all on my radar, but wondering around Amazon Prime for something watch, I saw season one of The Tick listed and checked out. This is how super hero shows should be! Funny as chit, well written, adult, and explores what having super heroes around in modern society would actually be like. They have ego, they're crazy, neurotic etc. I power watched season 1, and will continue on, happy I discovered this fun well written show that deserves more interest. A-

Note, this newer series is a reboot of a failed series in 2002 on Fox. I recall the cartoon way back, but never saw that, nor have I seen the last TV show, so I went into this new reboot fresh with nothing to compare it to.

I remember hearing about the animated series, but I'd never seen it, so I, too, came at this fresh. And I really enjoyed it. S2 looks bonkers, as well. Now that S3 of The Grand Tour has wrapped up, I'll probably put this in rotation.

Also: The titular The Tick is played by the same guy who played the Sommelier in John Wick: Chapter 2.

    For those curious.

(And Alan Tudyk is Overkill's boat thing.)

I watched the animated series back in the day and loved it. For that reason I was excited for the 2001ish live action reboot and it was poop. I'll give this one a watch and see if it is reminiscent of the old animated series I dug.

I never saw the first reboot, but I have read people seem to feel this new version much closer to the animated series/comic book.

Good because I liked both. Of course I was a kid when I read the comic books. I was amped for the live-action series because I also was a big fan of Patrick Warburton & loved his characters which usually were like Puddy from the Seinfeld series. Sadly it sucked. This one seems promising though so I'll work it into the rotation once we get a chance. Final season of GoT is a week away though so it may be a bit.

You can binge watch the entirety of The Tick in one go, if you wanted. The final season of Game of Thrones will be one episode a week for the next... twelve weeks or so?

What I left out is that the wife wanted to watch the entire GoT series again so we're currently binge watching that whenever we get spare time. Also, being as it's spring time, we're not really going to be holed up inside as much as we were over the winter.
