I should have let Mrs Stick kill me, and picked up green over runs. I feel your pain.

Once you buy it then shoot it youll feel fine about the cost. They are great rifles. As others said quality optics and youll be fine. No reason to swap the lower, 40 bux for scar mags vs 15-20ish for pmags, after you spend the 350+ for a lower. Takes a while to see the savings. Scar mags work great. The g trigger is really the only option. That said, my 17 has a decent factory trigger. My 16 isnt as nice. It works fine and hasnt caused me to be any less accurate than any other platform I own.

The LMT was always a pig when I was looking around. In my mind it was always between the SR25 ACC (extra 1k) and the SCAR. The two SCARs I have put a lot of rounds through were both 1.5 MOA guns. They can do sub MOA but you need the right ammo and need to work at it. The Geissele trigger helps tremendously along with a KDG rail both of which I think it should come from the factor with. In that config its worth $3000. In the end its a project gun. Those two parts and it's a pretty badass battle rifle.

FN support in general pisses me off and the support the for SCAR is no different with the BS about suppressors and alterations. But its questionable if you would every need it.

I own a SCAR but I dont really long for it. Currently I can't bring myself to sell it. The LMT is a nice gun but they have a lot of competition in the price range now. In the end I think the gun to buy is the new SR25 be it the ACC (8 ish lbs)for lighter weight or the APC (9 ish lbs) if you want precision. The new generations are pretty amazing guns.

I did not find this to be true in my case.

But... maybe I'm a brute that can't distinguish the finer details.

    LMT all the way.

Super common parts, easy to upgrade/alter per preference.
And, you can grab an SR-25 upper of whatever flavor you want and drop it onto the LMT lower and be off to the races.

For folks whose wives won't let them dish out for KAC, I recommend LMT.

I loved my SCAR 17 but ultimately let it go due to the cost of spare parts. I like to stock up on spare firing pins, bolts, etc... and the spares for the 17 are crazy expensive. It kind of made me mad every time I took it out of the safe and realized how much I had invested in it with about 12 magazines. It is a great rifle but I went with a CMMG MK3, bought a few PMAG's and had a pile of money for ammo and stuff.

I say that as the last semi .308 i shot prior to the scar took a while to become reliable, and was very heavy. The scar also has less recoil. To me its significantly more ergonomic, i love the ugg boot. Personal preference, for me I felt much better after dropping that 2500 bux lol
