    Hyve + 1 for Shield

For daily carry of a 9mm Shield 2.0, my preference is the OAL of the factory 8 round mag for grip and concealability. I've had the occasional problem with the spacer sliding up the mag body and wondered if anyone is running the Hyve Tech. +1 base pad on a 7 rounder?

The + 1 seems like a reasonable, although somewhat expensive, alternative.

    Thanks.

I use the Hyve +1 extensions on my Shield mags. They have proven to be as reliable as the factory 8 rd mags. I thought about removing the spacer on the factory 8 rd mags but didn't want to have issues due to over-insertion during mag changes. The Hyve extensions are excellent.

Another +for Hyve. I carry my Shield with a + one 7 rounder in the gun and my reload(s) are 8 rounders with Hyve +2 extensions. They have proven reliable through numerous rounds, are well made, and the company is easy to deal with. I like them a lot.

Check out the Safety Solutions Academy Shield Magfix base plate. It is supposed to work really well.

By removing spacer you may create the possibility of mag over-insertion and bent ejector issues:

Thanks for the replies. I ordered two recently and testing results are good. So far I have approximately 200 rounds of various range and defense ammo through each without a hiccup.
