There has to be a great deal of corruption and trafficking at POE or the quantity that is being reported as entering the country is wrong. How could your average 5’ Central American carry several kilos of product and make it through that arid territory?

If anything the quantity is probably being underreported.

There’s corruption sure but I think it’s minuscule. It’s really just the volume of narcotics coming through. If smuggling through POEs was bad for business the cartels wouldn’t do it. So as much product is being seized it’s still within acceptable loss limits.

I have wondered if the Federal Corrections officers at the super-max where El Chapo is held have their bank accounts and spending (like credit cards) monitored by the feds while they are assigned to guarding ol' Guzman.

That's not actually how it works. Inmates/correction officers in admin jobs always scout to see who they can make a client. When they are approached by CO's and a deal made, someone on the outside sends a money order etc to a PO box. Then the CO's etc will bring in the gifts etc.

Lot's of green-ey and enviro laws have 'bounty' actions in them. A company that isn't in compliance can be sued in civil court by a 'bounty hunter' that finds that their labelling isn't to spec, the hand rail in the bathroom is an inch off. They then get the company to pay to go away or take them to court and collect. I'd love to see something like that written into the immigration laws. Better yet, make the bounties come out of the budget that the lefties care about so that they'll actually have an incentive for bounty hunters not to be able to find illegals.

The FBI on Saturday arrested a man described as a commander of an armed group that has been detaining migrants in New Mexico, the state attorney general’s office said.

Larry Mitchell Hopkins, 69, of Flora Vista, New Mexico, was arrested for allegedly being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas and the FBI said.

The arrest comes after New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, a Democrat, demanded that members of a militia group, some of whom are armed, stop detaining migrants at the New Mexico-Mexico border.

Balderas said in a statement that Hopkins is "a member of the armed group of individuals reportedly detaining migrants near Sunland Park, New Mexico."

Ask yourself: How did the FBI know to go and arrest this guy so quickly? Answer: They have been watching this group for a long time. That's a cautionary tale for anyone thinking of doing something similar.

On top of that, Flora Vista is a long way from Sunland Park, at least a day's drive. So this guy was way away from home. He must have been followed. The FBI probably has these people under 24-hour surveillance.

No one is going to be telling private land owners they can't stop hordes of trespassers from crossing their land. I'd do the same thing if I was down there - round 'em up, hold them at gunpoint until the Feds or local LE show up. If it's my place, I can call in Ranch Rescue or armed Girl Scouts and that's my business.

I'm a bit tired of the whole drama.
If you're not going to turn back an unarmed invasion with force and you are willing to turn your back on it as it occurs, why not just turn your back and let the people who live down there handle it?
The very same people arresting this bunch of US Citizens could be working to round up the people coming across illegally, but that's not going to happen. Now ask yourself why?
I'm a bit sick of the FBI picking sides and leaning toward the socialist progressive agenda and Democratic Party agenda.

Honestly a backhoe could fix all of this.

Members of the United Constitutional Patriots, who set up a border camp to monitor immigrants in Sunland Park, New Mexico, were told to move their campsite by Friday.

The Sunland Park Police Department and representatives of the railroad that owns the land told the militia members on Monday that they would have to move.

'No trespassing' signs posted
The city of Sunland Park on Monday also set up "No Trespassing" signs in the area. The land is owned by Union Pacific.

"Members of the United Constitutional Patriots were not given permission to camp on or access Union Pacific property," Union Pacific said in a statement.

Union Pacific stated that the group set up a camp adjacent to Union Pacific property and trespassed on railroad property to access this camp.

Union Pacific has its own police force that enforces trespassing laws.
