    Smith 15-22 converted to 6920

After installation of parts kit from tacticool22.com:

I wanted to do a complete step by step pictorial, but this site only allows 5 photos per post.

Anyway, in addition to the tacticool parts kit ($142), you will need a pair of takeoff M4 handguards ($20 on ebay) and

    front sight post
    front sight post spring
    front sight post detent
    front sling swivel
    front sling swivel rivet

    ($20 shipped from Midway).

To match my Colt, I opted for a carry handle made in USA by Standard Manufacturing ($50 shipped). Vastly superior to cheapo Chinese NCStar airsoft stuff. I wouldn't hesitate to put it on a real AR.

So for a bit over $200, it now works like, feels like, and looks like a Colt LE6920.

That is very cool. Nicely done.
In no way do I make any money from anyone related to the firearms industry.

The Tacticool kit comes with a front sight made for the job. It has no holes for taper pins. Instead, you attach it to the barrel with included set screws. And there's a bolt that holds the end cap on, in place of the non-existent gas tube, so the handguards can stay on.
