    CAR buttpad help

Search came up dry, so I'm putting up the Batsignal for help trying to find an option for a CAR buttpad. I hate those nasty fake "Ordnance" ones by Promag and Leapers, looking for one more like the ribbed ones Diemaco uses as seen on the Vickers C8 SFW.

Problem is... the only similar pad I've found is at Model 1 Sales, whose rep in this community is generally in the UNSAT end of the scale. M&A Parts looks like theirs are Promags, which are as previously discussed not an option. Does anybody out there in M4C Land have any leads on these (something other than in Black would be a *big* plus) that will let me keep my hands clean, or am I stuck gambling thirty bucks for two shipped and hope I've found the one thing that even THEY can't screw up?

Thanks, but the Masen is even less CAR-looking than the Promag. Worse yet, I seem to recall Masen having some negative reputation issues in the early 2000's... of course, my memory could be fuzzy. Appreciate the thought, though.

I don't know if you'd want to spend this much, but I'm partial to them myself.

May suck, but there are C8 butt pads listed on Airsoft pages.

Thanks, guys, but Tony's is the very Promag I was looking to avoid. Limbsaver doesn't work for a clone build, and ironically those airsoft ones cost almost twice as much as the Model 1's... thanks for the lead, though, JSBHike, you might have put me onto a solution for my Tri-Rail problem too. Now to just find out if 007Airsoft ships to the US...

They aren't the only ones selling those pads, just the first search hit I saw in stock. Just do a search for butt pad plus a Diemaco flavor model number and airsofters may clone it.

Not sure what you will be getting, but the Airsoft Aimpoint knock off covers seem to be identical in dimensions and material to the real deal ones with the exception of no logo on the sides.

Yeah, that's a bit of a gamble... while the mission-statement on this build is "range toy for the girlfriend," I'm still trying to build such that if it HAD to be pressed into service for Home/Neighborhood D it'd be up to the task. OTOH... a simple hunk of rubber, *in Ricky Gervais voice* "How Hard Can It Be?"

Not like it really causes a problem even if it does fail. I have one for an N stock, but can't recall where I stuck it or who made it. What I can recall is that it had a slight amount of wiggle that I stopped with a few dabs of a rubbery adhesive. Looks like that issue would be close to a constant with the top sling loop, but I have never seen a C8 in person.
