The B.E. Meyers MAWL-C1+ represents a true paradigm shift in laser system design.

Perst 3 is inbound. Well see how it performs when it gets here.

I just recently bought and received my PERST 3. Took it out only once so far and messed around with it and I can say I’m thoroughly impressed with the illuminator and laser. I own a Dbal D2 and Dbal A3, both of which are inferior to the PERST as far as illuminators go. With a tighter focused beam I had no problem illuminating out to 1000yds easy. I also really like the ability to individually adjust the power of the illuminator and laser and have the unit remember those settings and apply them when the illuminator and laser are activated simultaneously. I still need to thoroughly vet it for durability but that will come with use.

Theirs only a few negative things I have to say about the PERST 3.

-The way in which you adjust the illuminators point of aim feels very clunky to me. It involves four small Allen head screws in which you tilt the illuminator to allow you to change its poa. I felt like it could have been done better.

-I also wish their was some type of built in cover for the lasers. As it stands their is only a small window protecting them but no black out cap to prevent AD of the laser.

-Wish their was a rear accessed battery compartment that didn’t require tools. As it stands you need a flathead screw driver to remove the top access battery compartment.

Overall I’m happy with it considering it’s a full power unit. Really would have preferred buying a full power PEQ or American made unit but unfortunately that’s not an option. I think you will enjoy yours.

I think the Perst-2, powered by 18650 batteries is the bigger shift.

These newer battery technologies will enable much higher performance than legacy CR123 lithiums will allow for.

They also have a TAPS style dual switch coming out, which also has their adjustment knobs on it.

There's a great podcast from Primary and Secondary with the guys from Cloud Defensive where they discuss battery technologies.

It's in the recent past if anybody wants to go listen to it.

My son just purchased a Perst unit. What do you think about yours and what are the pro's and con's you have determined so far?
