I saw some CBC 556 55gr FMJ ammo in a 50 round gold box I was thinking about buying.
Is this as good as the magtech 556 ammo I get in the green box?

From what I understand, CBC is for military designated ammunition. That seems like it would be a plus to already good ammunition.
I've always had good results with it.
- cqbdriverIt is from the construction of underground FEMA camps. I can't say more because there a guy parked in front of house in an AMC Pacer. He is acting like he talking on the phone, but I know better.
I have to sign off now & put my laptop in the microwave.
ok, thanks for the info. I appreciate it.
My understanding is Magtech is produced by CBC in Brazil.
No clue if it is merely rebranded or produced to Magtech specs.
I’ve shot quite a bit of CBC 77 gr OTM. It was reasonably a accurate but had about 100 FPS ES.
Much past 300 yds the accuracy is unimpressive.
I've run it, decent blastin' ammo.
Yeah, the key to accuracy is consistency.
The CBC/Magtech and MEN, having huge ES's are not particularly accurate in 5.56 IME.
Thought I would chime in, as I had the same question and sent a couple emails to Magtech corporate.
The gold box CBC and green box Magtech M193 are one in the same, just in different packaging. They also mentioned the gold box CBC branding is their "old" packaging and are now branding it only as green box Magtech.
Now the only questions I have are....is this truly the most accurate bulk M193, and is Magtech's 62gr load more accurate than their 55gr M193 by a non-trivial amount?
That may depend on the twist of your barrel.
