    300 HAM’R Configuration Question.

Hopefully I’m in the right thread..it’s been awhile. So I’m building a hunting rifle. It’s chambered in 300 HAM’R. Has an 18” barrel with a BCM A5 stock kit . I’m going to be running 150gr through it for now. I think they’re around 2300FPS rounds. I can verify if that becomes relevant. I also have the Super 42 Spring to throw something else in there.

So my question is will the Geissele SUPER 42 spring work with a BCM/VLTOR A5, standard VLTOR A5-0 Buffer shooting 150gr 300 HAMR OUT OF AN 18” barrel? Has anyone tried anything close to that?

The S42 spring only works with their skinny buffers and is for CAR applications.

With your A5 setup, use a mil-spec rifle spring or Sprinco Green rifle spring.

I should have said that. The Spring I have is the Rifle Length. The buffer from VLTOR does fit inside the spring. Looks to be correctly. Is it still a no-go? Thank you for your time BTW.

Ahh, yes, the S42 rifle version looks to be compatible.

With a properly gassed upper, extra strength springs are generally not required.
