cool but in some ways when it comes down to so much tech I prefer folks who use no high tech and hit shorter ranges that are still beyond most

I hear dat. I still think the one and only Jerry M hitting a balloon at 1000 yards with a 9mm handgun on his 2d try, the most overall impressive I have ever seen.

Well... technically he hit the target the balloon was taped to, and it popped... but a great shot none the less.

When you use the words "forward observer" in reference to rifle shooting, you know it's about to get ridiculous.

It's hard to even contemplate that distance, much less a hit. 3.4 miles? "Smoke 'em if you got 'em, boys. The enemy won't be here for a few...WTF was that?"

I was looking at the link and still don't quite understand. Is it a device that gets above the scopes line of sight like a periscope?

Well, at 17 second to Target and 22 shots to hit the target, I suppose it's of limited utility but as always, pushing the tech to its limits often leads to developments and learnin'

I'd think not too long ago such a shot would have been considered impossible.
