    4 grand is SR25 money.

They can kiss my ass. If FEG is reading this: I would pay maybe 2 thou for a Dragunov because its in my favorite dirty chinese cartoons and that one scene in that movie Sniper was cool.

Otherwise you can keep your bootlegged communist M14.

I paid $4,050 for my Swiss Arms 751 SAPR. From a functionality and collectability standpoint, the 751 wins easily. I just don't see $4,000 as being close to realistic for this rifle. There are 160+ people on the list last I checked. If it's $4,000 I don't think that 10% of the interested buyers will end up purchasing. The realistic price to move them is $2000 maximum and that's if they are historically correct. Even at $2,000, half of the people on the list won't buy. If they have the modern improvement options as shown on the flyer, it will turn off the collectors. I'm hoping they stay smart and sell at the right price point, but I fear they're going to overshoot.

I finally read up on it and was surprised that:

    1) $4k seems to be at the low end of estimates, that's what they're going for in Europe.

    2) They're not coming in a complete SVDs- either as a "pistol" with an AR style brace stock or a rifle without a flashhider.

    3) Russkie and ChiCom SVDs are taking off in value like bitcoin on preworkout (at least until a boatload of these show up).

More importantly, I have a Romy PSL that while not a true Drugy, more than satisfies the itch and I paid like $675 for it. A $4k SVD doesn't even break into my top 20 must haves.

We are starting from scratch using the machinery, blueprints, tooling and everything we out away in the 80s.

We are making 100 and we have the capability to make 1900 more.

I asked to put some in 6.5 creedmore and do a .308 and we are all investigating it.

If it's not your cup of tea, so be it but the opportunity for real drag systems in the US is here.

I believe in peace, love and extremely violent weapons systems... just in case that whole peace-and-love thing doesn't work out.

You say "capability" to make a total of 2000. Why only 2000? Is there a reason for that arbitrary cap on production numbers? If you can make that many you can make more, no?

Cool that you're thinking about 6.5 Creedmore and .308. Of course then mags have to change. It's the $4K potential price that'll slow sales. The oft-mentioned $2K sounds much more reasonable and you'd double or triple your sales easily.

If they drop the price to half and only double their sales, then that would be a very bad decision

2000 is because we only have labor for the summer and spring 2020.

We are small right now and we only are building to order.

I can't regulate prices as that is fixed also.

This is a very expensive system to produce.

This isn't stamped sheet metal and nothing is caste like the US stuff.

But prices can come down once its setup nicely.

But the 100 coming in will only be unique.

Yeah, thanks for pointing out the obvious (I should have caught that when I posted it). If they went for $2K they'd easily triple their sales (is that better?). Hell, even if they dropped it to half and doubled their sales it'd be breaking the same as twice the price with half the sales. Then they'd have a name for themselves and open the door wider in the future. Keeping it at $4K ensures it will be a niche product.
