    Brownells gas tube GTG?

I was looking at gas tubes on Brownells' website and I came across a nitrided gas tube they offer. Does anyone have experience with these? I'll need a carbine gas tube for a Colt SOCOM barrel and I'm having a hard time coming up with a reason to spend $27 for a SS Colt gas tube when I can get a nitrided one for ~$6. I don't care about clone correctness or anything, just function.

been using brownells tubes for years. no issues. i too can't see any reason to buy colt's. and i like the black nitrided ones because they look low-key under the hand guard.

I’ve used two of them without issue. Remember, if anything goes wrong with something from brownells they have the forever guarantee. I’ve used it a few times and have been happy with their service.

Never had an issue with a gas tube. $7 or $25, all the same, IME.

Just installed a new carbine nitride from Brownells last night and it went in fine and shot great. I've used other brands and I really don't see any difference except a lower price.

I will pile on. I just used one on a build for a friend. Gun only has a couple hundred rounds through it, but it is working great.

    Brownells gas tube GTG?

How well does the nitride coating prevent carbon/trash build up? I know it's just a simple gas tube and they're cheap, just curious.
