Reflex dot seen from the front?

Someone told me a reflex dot (like on a pistol) can be seen from the front.

I.e., during a low light shootout an opponent could see the reflex-users red dot and shoot towards it.

I dont own one and couldn't find confirmation via article or video.

    True or not?

It depends on what red dot. Some can be seen others can’t. I know one of the big reasons why Eotech fell out of favor was when their optics post that coating or lamination you could see it from the front.

Yes, true of any RDS, AFAIK, albeit dependent on how bright you have the optic set and within a fairly limited FOV. The brighter you have it set, the further the optic's visual signature will be detectable.
Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

Yes it is “visible”. It is dim, and cant imagine a situation it would matter. Across a room, when its moving- I believe it would be near impossible to see if you were looking for it.
