First: RT is a Russian propaganda news site.
Second: PCB circuit boards is not a huge national security concern. I bet the bare PCB boards are manufactured in China but completed in USA. A few years ago, Northrop and Honeywell were using Chinese magnets in the F-35 radar. Its not like China is manufacturing the flight management system (FMS) or the weapon management system.
In Chinas defense on manufacturing, they really have come a long way, not the country as a whole but there are quite a few companies who have really gone above and beyond to make a name for themselves as manufactures.
Major U.S commercial airlines have their American made jet engines rebuilt overseas also.
Sources of component parts are a HUGE deal in the space/defense industry. Counterfeiting parts (from bolts to electronics) is a profitable business encouraged by the Chinese government. Manufacturing in China means handing over all IP unless you are the size of Apple.
China is kinda like every other industrial nation in that they are quite capable of making seriously good stuff and some seriously bad crap. I use some circuit boards in the phone biz that cost as much as a Porsche Carrera and work right good.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.
Chuck, we miss ya man.

That is kind of true, Chinese government literally buys entire manufacturing companies over here in USA and moves them to China. They do have spies in several manufacturing facilities that steal prints, drawings and technical info to replicate whatever it is. In the offshore oil industry, China is now competing with companies like Cameron, National Oilwell/ Varco, GE and several others selling BOP equipment, top drives, central HPUS etc. The Chinese parts look identical, but 1/2 price.
Japan really made a name for themselves starting in the 1950's with toys and construction equipment, and then in the late 1960's they hit a home run with electronics.
The US cannot compete with China economically. It does cost far more to have goods and products made in America. China could have built a name for themselves as a reputable manufacturing hub, but they focused more on making knock off Nike's and Louis Vuitton's to be taken seriously.
To be honest, a lot of composites that are used in the aviation industry are made in China. Gulfstream, Dassault, Cessna, Beechcraft, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Space X all use Chinese suppliers for composite material.
