Spuhr upgrade for Portuguese Navy G3's

Not familiar with Spuhr but apparently they make good (and expensive) stuff:

"The Portuguese Navy joins the Swedish Army and Home Guard in bringing eternal life to the Heckler & Koch G3 by buying the Spuhr Upgrade Kit for their service rifles."

I have been researching end user satisfaction for some time.
The butt stock is not advised for iron sight use unless the cheekpiece is removed.

Ian McCollum has a bunch of their stuff hanging off his custom left-hand HK91 (I believe built by Dakota Tactical).

    What a mess.

Low profile top rail and done.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

My biggest complaint with the PTR's I had was the long length of pull.

2nd overall weight of rifle and ammo of course. 3rd lack of BHO. But they ran great and were accurate. They're like an improved Kalashnikov in 7.62x51.

Oh, yea, the trigger was really heavy. Forgot about that.

This new stock looks like it shortens it up LOP considerably.

Anyone know how short it gets?

I'd prefer adjustability from 10-12 inches.

My friend is left handed, he likes HK's as a collector but can't run them well- so he got rid of them.

Check out the South African R2 which was, still is an upgraded G3 based on operational requirements.

The left hand thing aside, the Spuhr stock is a real improvement on G3 pattern guns. Pricey but well worth it.

According to this article the range of LOP with this stock is 12.6 to 15.7 inches.

My AR10 16 inch M4 stock is 12.5-13 depending where I measure the butt pad. So, this G3 stock in it's shortest position is at the max length I prefer.

Kinda want a PTR91 again now.

The biggest downside is the trigger. From the great two-stage trigger on my AR10 to the 10-pounder on a PTR91. And the G3 design is heavier, and the selector isn't as good, and there is no LRBHO.

The only upside really is reliability and I'd be able to shoot more and clean less. My AR10 runs pretty darn well, but hasn't been perfect. The three PTR91's I've had ALL ran perfectly. Even on junk $6/20 Russian .308 steel case that I'd never try to get the AR10 to run on. The HK21 buffer and the G3's weight made it recoil less than the AR10, too.
