Aero Precision M16A4 Clone Rifle Review: The Best M16A4 Clone For The Money?

    Pros:
    -Accuracy is awesome
    -Reliability
    -price/value proposition
    -specs
    -cool factor

    Cons:
    -weight

Other than that I'm not sure there's much to add!

20 years ago I bought a Bushmaster M16A2 clone. It's still my main AR. Box stock. When I pull it out at the range, the M4 crowd checks it out. They've never fired one. And now Colt and Windham make the M4A1 reissue.

If you get old enough, eventually your gun, guitar, (girlfriend?) will be reissued.

I have a complete upper from Aero. 16" SS barrel. It’s been reliable and MOA accurate. I would buy again.

I've never used any products from Aero. However, I built a AR15A4 clone that's surely becoming one of my favorite rifles to shoot. I just use the detachable carry handle sights. I'd like to get the correct ACOG someday.

    I don’t get the cons.

Is that aero specific or for the A4 in general?

I'd be tempted to buy one if Aero would only offer it on a telestock lower for us sawed-off stubdudes... rather buy it as separate parts with everything except the lower coming from places that don't collect WA sales tax though. *tosses raised middle-finger at State Capitol*

Sweet. I’m looking at a full size AR to add to my collection.

I think it's in relation to the M4. It weighs more

Brownells has the M16A4 listed at 8.2lbs meanwhile the 6920 is a hair under 7lbs.

Yeah I carried one in Iraq so I’m unfortunately familiar with the weight. :-)

I just didn’t get the pros (most seem Aero specific) vs the cons (every A4 is gonna weigh more than an M4) I was wondering if maybe they had a heavier profile barrel or something.

I never held an M16A4 let alone carry one so not sure what is considered Aero specific vs the military version. But the way I understood the video it's a well made/spec repro with the correct handguard rail for significantly less than the the FN or Colt and better made than Bushy/Stag/Windham.
