    New Guy Looking for Opinions

Yes, I know opinions are like....the thing everyone has, but I've been reading on this forum for a long time. I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a LMT rifle and would like to know the current opinion on LMT's quality, reliability, etc. I know they are "expensive" in the view of many, but ... what's the real world "take" on them. Thank you one and all. Cheers!

Summary from one who has read the forum for a little while:

They used to be one of the only brands that could equal Colt quality and reliability. Their products were innovative in the early-mid 2000’s. They developed a following, and their products have been/are used by the our military, the UK, New Zealand, and others. They are not necessarily better in any way than other quality options today. I personally received an improperly machined part, which they replaced with a functional but blemished part rather than a new part. They aren’t perfect. They aren’t bad. Besides their rear sight and MARS ambi lower, there is nothing special that would cause me to purchase them over a BCM, DD, Colt, Sionics, Centurion, etc.

    LMT is solid but outdated.

How so comparing basic carbines? Outdated compared to what?

Excellent luck with both the standard M4-ish LMTs as well as particular MRP variants, including recent production.

LMT MRP guns were my “go to” from 2007-2011. When rails started going keymod and mlok, I wanted lighter guns and move away from LMT. From my memory, great accuracy.
I can’t recall a single malfunction in all those years.

I've used a lot of their parts in my builds, and they're all top notch. Their complete rifles are nice, but I'd rather buy a Knight's Armament for that kind of money.

I own 2 LMT MWS AR10's and a 2 AR15's. You will not buy better IMHO, others make great guns as well. If you want an LMT, you will not be disappointed. Some people want Colt and they buy and are happy, thats cool too. You will be buying a solid gun if you buy LMT.
