I have a Remington 700 5R 223 Rem. that has a stainless barrel and I think action (not 100% sure on the action). It came with a black Cerakote finish in a black w/gray spiderweb Bell and Carlson M40 stock.

I love the rifle, not too crazy about the black barrel, action and stock. I'm going to paint it some type of flat dark earth, coyote or tan. I might add some OD green, brown and/or black later.

I've used Brownell's Aluma-Hyde II paint with good luck. How does the Aluma-Hyde II compare to Duracoat's aerosol paint? Is there anything special I'll have to do to paint over the Cerakote or B&C stock?

Thanks, NYH1.
