    AK build from KM3 Solutions!

Well it's here! Took me a few days to get time to take some pics. I can't say how excited I am get get this back and just check it out. Beyond happy with everything.
Tons of work went into this and you can tell when you're holding it.
I need to get a lighter toned 40 round bakelite mag to pair with it.

Everyone at the gun shop was geeked to check it out. They couldn't believe I hadn't even see it yet and they they'd all seen it before me. The whole place gathered 'round to watch the unboxing. Haha.

I can't wait to get to the range.

I've been in to AK's for almost 30 years. I have to say that this is the most unique AK that I've ever seen. It looks like something that might be seen in a Mad Max movie, only nicer. It's definitely something to be proud of. Congratulations!

    Thanks!

RS Regulate said "It's like 1/3 steampunk, 1/3 Mexican mafia, 1/3 borderlands apocalypse" which I find pretty hilariously accurate.

If it looks as good in person as in pictures... Really interesting and amazing. I would say a work of firearms Art. Are you planning to shoot it or keep as a collection item?

It's not like my paint jobs. It does look just as good in person. Better really as you can see the machining details better.

My paint jobs on the other hand.... Lol

    And it'll be a shooter.

So I guess at least there are no Punisher skulls.

Definitely not my personal tastes, but if it's built well and performs reliably then go with god.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

This forum doesn't do well with appreciating aesthetic builds. Too many purists, former .mil and grouchy baby boomers to appreciate it.

I think it's pretty cool, as long as it runs like it should and uses good components.

I firmly believe that this sort of thing is what will help get the next generation of shooters interested in guns. They play games with super customizable weapons with different skins and accessories, so this is a natural progression and a key part of keeping shooting alive for our kids. Hell, my first gun was a HK USP because of that famous Rainbow Six cover photo.

Neat looking weapon and conversation piece. Can you give us a ballpark dollar amount as to what you have in that rifle as it is now?

    ^ am KM3 Solutions

Oddly enough I am a former mil, grouchy boomer, purist at heart.. but that's no fun when it comes to building or business.

Everything used in the build is what I would consider top shelf, except potentially the ancillaries, namely optic and light, but those are extremely simple to change with the KOP system and MLOK forend respectively. Rifle runs like a top. Smooth and flat shooting.

I appreciate the kind comments on builds like this interesting the next generation of shooters, and I completely agree - if you are familiar with the Glocks I do in conjunction with BattleCock Tactical, that's something we discuss and consider often. Gamers being brought into a welcoming fold with familiar and expressive builds showing them the potential to have something more than a black, stock gun - win win.
