One of the last few direct action units in AFG

Army SF near the Korengal famous for other battles.

Found it interesting the weapons sgt ran the mk48 clean with no optics or ir. Lots of magnified optics and long guns plus spotting scopes.

The guest SOF guy was ID’d as an Aussie by Australian media if you care to look it up.

    *no affiliation with BRC

I don’t think anyone is surprised by it. If the only guys running in hostile territory are in the SOF realm that kind of narrows it down. The BRC article had to be scrubbed but Aussie media already outed the guy. AFG is done with.

You mean done with from a conventional stand point?

Yes. There aren’t many people going outside the wire. Still some EOD and route clearance.

    12th KIA identified:

    Damn.

18 years in service and a SGM? Hell yeah! While that rank/time-in-service combo is not unheard of, I have no doubt he was a hard-charger. No 18X either; he was a regular 3rd ID grunt for OIF. Damn shame.

A sustainment BDE just got there this week so there’s enough.

10th Group has had a rough deployment the last few months. Three KIA plus two attached EOD guys since March or April IIRC. And there’s not a huge footprint over there from them. Plus a retired CW 4 I think, from either 3or or 5th group who was working as a contractor.
