    Cloudy finish post color fill.

I tried to color in the “fire safe” on my HM defense lower. After removing the excess I was cloudy. I tried some nail polish and it’s still a touch cloudy.

I put some oil on it after reading that some ar finishes do this

    Is this reversible?

    Easy fix.
    Go to the range.
    Shoot at least 500 rounds.
    Rub some dirt on it.
    Drive on.

IB4 thread lock. My dentist cerakoted his glock grey and color filled it orange.

If you read the finish gets cloudy somewhere that’s not here, why don’t you ask them how to fix it

I'm speechless. Either way... it must stop.

Your second mistake was using nail polish. Nail polish is removed with nail polish remover. Nail polish remover is nothing more than diluted acetone with perfume added.

If, after removing the nail polish, you still want fill the fill marks on your firearm, do it right and use Lacquer Stiks. It's what professionals use to fill stampings on machines parts, engravings on bowling balls and so on. They're much easier to use and faster than nail polish, model paints and other silliness that's usually suggested by amateurs.

Lacquer Stiks are sold by Brownell's and online bowling supplies.

Stop doing stupid things to your rifle and you'll stop having problems like this. If you're not doing maintenance or solving a problem, maybe don't do it.
