Throw in a few dramatic eye blinks like you're trying to shake a bad mental image while you're staring silently. Works wonders.

I'm a guy who likes visual aides and props to make a point. I was in Sarasota, Florida on Lido Key over the 4th of July week and saw numerous pleasure boats flying these flags:

Here's some I use, pretty much daily; and I do just drop them and walk off:

"That's a great story, I'd love to hear it again sometime?"

"Are you in pain? (Answer is always- NO, why?) my grandpa always told me stupid should hurt more?"

"Have you heard about the new technological break through where you can put people on mute? I need that"

"Thanks for your fresh point of view, truly original for our time"

"Everyone is entitled to stupid opinions, but you're just abusing that privilege at this point"

"And to think, out of all those sperm, YOU were the quickest of the bunch"

"I cannot tell you how much joy you've brought me in leaving this conversation"

The last one is my favorite. The looks on peoples faces is priceless.
We interrupt this programme to bring you an important news bulletin: the suspect in the Happy Times All-Girl Glee Club slaying has fled the scene and has managed to elude the police. He is armed and dangerous, and has been spotted in the West Side area, armed with a meat cleaver in one hand and his genitals in the other...

"Damn, that's deep................ if I was as smart as you, I couldn't deal with myself".

You have to be really sincere when you say it. The timing is key as well. If you do it just right, by the time you hit the door they will get it.

Generally I try and learn from Hakuin, and just reply "Is that so" before leaving.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

I’mma steal that and figure out a way to make my phone play Fortunate Son while I do that and then cryptically say something like “....you think Charlie give a damn about yo’ white people problems. Charlie jes’ out there a waitin’....”

Then just be all “okay what were you saying?”

LOL! Prolly works even better for those old enough to have been in Nam...

There is a way... get a prepaid burnphone, set Fortunate Son as the ringtone and put it on your other phone's speed-dial.
You really have to ask why Conservatives have guns? Because Liberals block freeways, burn cities, throw Molotov cocktails, loot, turn over cop cars, and think this behavior is Socially Acceptable.
