Guy was kitted up, but no flotation? Not a fun swim..
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

Not to mention that there are plates and other specialized gear designed for water borne operations that are either positively or neutrally buoyant and the PC and load bearing gear is outfitted with quick releases. These operators are also extensively trained on how to react when dropped into large bodies of water fully kitted.

I wasn’t implying that he wasn’t trained or outfitted for it, but like using an ejection seat- it can’t be much fun, especially with the propeller in the back!

The thing said it occurred in the "eastern Pacific Ocean". Not like it's just a quick run from Mexico or the Caribbean to our shores. The Pacific is HUGE. It no doubt was dropped from a larger ship not too awfully far from where it was caught I would surmise.
