My latest - M4A1 SOPMOD Block II Build

Disclaimer: This post is not for the faint of heart or the Pro-Colt fan club.

This is my latest build. It is NOT 100% clone correct as it DOES NOT use a Colt barrel, Colt BCG, Colt receivers, or a SF4P FH. It is, however, more correct than many of these builds I have seen.

    Upper Assembly:
    Aero Precision Assembled Upper Receiver
PRI M84 Gas Buster Charging Handle with Military Big Latch
Daniel Defense Mk12 Low Profile Gas Block (.750")
Daniel Defense Stainless Steel Gas Tube -Carbine Length

MAGPUL Picatinny Ladder Rail Panel (3) - FDE
BCM Standard 14.5" M4 Barrel, Stripped, SOCOM
Aero Precision M16 Bolt Carrier Group - Phosphate
    Surefire 3-prong Flash hider/Suppressor Adapter (SF3P-556-1-2-28)
    CQD Forward Sling Mount

    Lower Assembly:
Palmetto State Armory "Property of U.S. GOVT. M4A1" Lower Receiver
Colt Full-Auto Ambi-Safety Selector (modified - fin removed)
    GEISSELE Super Semi-Automatic (SSA) trigger
    A2 Pistol Grip (Black)
B5 Systems Gen I Enhanced SOPMOD Stock (Coyote Brown)
Colt M4/M4A1 Receiver Extension (4 position)
    BCM Carbine buffer spring
    H2 Buffer
    CQD Rear Sling Mount
    UID Sticker

    Optics/Sights:
    Eotech 553/SU-231-PEQ (NSN: 1240-01-533-0941)
Knights Armament M4 Folding Front Sight
Knights Armament Folding Micro Rear Sight, 200-600M Adjustable

    Accessories:
Blue Force Gear Vickers 2-Pt. Combat Sling - Coyote
Blue Force Gear Sling Snap Hooks
    Surefire, M300, Weaponlight, Picatinny, LED 500 Lumens, Z68 On/Off Tailcap, Tan (M300C-Z68-TN)
SureFire Scout Light Weapon Light Switch Assembly w/Picatinny Pressure Pad, Tan (DS-SR07-TN)

I got the Surefire 4 prong. The only thing not milspec is it's pinned and welded and not full auto.

Looks good! I would have much rather have been able to get a 4-prong for a reasonable price, but when the guys who have them are asking well north of $325 these days, it was not an option.

I might not take this build to war in A-stan, but I'd have no problem whatsoever using it in a Living History, reenacting or similar educational role, and it'd probably do in Home D too.

This build will be my new SHTF carbine. I have full faith in what I build as my life and the lives of others may depend on it.

That's how I built my carbines, to be as durable as possible just in case. Nice build by the way, it certainly looks the part. How do you find the fit between the Aero upper, and PSA lower?

Thank you. The fit is spot on. It could not be better.

Renegade, tight rig brother! Well done. I love those RISII rails. I have no clones but I have a skinny barrel colt 16 inches and that RIII FSP cutout. Just love it.
