    Harrison Extreme Service sights

I updated the sights on my modified Springfield from the factory Bomar target-style sights, to a more rugged fixed plain black rear sight and a front red FO. Sent my slide to John @ Harrison Custom and he installed the Extreme Service rear sight and a matching Dawson FO front. The service was fast and professional, I sent the slide last Saturday and got it back today, 1 week later. Not a mark on the slide.

These sights are a nice upgrade. The rear sight is built like a tank, and the FO front really pops in contrast to the black rear. Look forward to trying these out at the range.

I like those, if I ever change out the factory adjustable, I think I'm going to select the same ones.

I had him put some on an old Springfield Range officer years ago. Harrison is one of the last of the real 1911 guys.
Let those who are fond of blaming and finding fault, while they sit safely at home, ask, ‘Why did you not do thus and so?’I wish they were on this voyage; I well believe that another voyage of a different kind awaits them.”

He said last week in email that while he will still do quick things like sights and modest customization/upgrade work on an existing pistol, he has a backlog of 3 years of full custom builds to do, over 100 guns to build.

I have his sights and some small parts on several of my 1911s; quality gear from a very nice gentleman.

Anyone know if this will fit the standard cut Les Baer uses? Are there other standard cuts?

This one I like the sight so much I bought the gun from Greg.

I then had John installed his lowered shelf thumb safety on the gun.

He built a beautiful 1911 for Chuck Petrie. John Harrison is an excellent smith.
