    Cantilever mount

How do you figure out which mount to get as far as mount offset ( forward/aft). I have a lmt mrp and a primary arms raptor.

With an MRP, and its monolithic top rail, you don't need a cantilever or offset mount. Straight up is fine, put it where you want it, that's the beauty of the monolithic rail.

For other rifles with typical separate handguards, you basically choose based on the eye relief of your scope and your preferred shooting position. Scopes with long eye relief, or shooter who want NTCH, need 1.5-2" forward extension (super long cantilever), while most others can do with the typical 1" or so average cantilever. YMMV and you can only be certain by actually trying your scope, your rifle, and mounts of different extensions.
