OP fwiw I had a mk16 for spell but unloaded it during the railgate eruption so I never got around running it. But I will say it was very nicely designed. URX4 is still king IMO.

TOS nuked the rail gate thread like 20 pages in (shocking) but there were multiple documented deformities of the rail which occurred under perfectly acceptable and reasonable circumstances. So someone definitely dropped the ball somewhere.

The closest thing to railgate for me was that it's supposed to be a thinner O.D. than the Mk14, and I already feel like the Mk14 is as close to perfect as I can ask a rail to be. So "meh". I'm a bit surprised Vltor VIS type uppers aren't the norm at this point for units with deeper pockets.

You’re a Kool-Aid drinking fanboy. Not sure your comments bear any relevance.

That is the fatal flaw of the "lightweight" rail world. You can't have jt both ways. Something will be sacrificed.

They're still selling them, aren't they?

Someone is hoping the news cycle would make people forget.

What is the actual flaw in the design of the Mk16? Barrel nut fit?

Which rail(s) were affected by this? This is the first I'm hearing of this.
