1911s are just fun as a hobby in itself. They aren’t just another gun I add to the safe. They are something I enjoy as a separate interest. I like Americana. I like retro/vintage. Starting to look into original pre 1980s 1911s

Been doing 1911’s since the early 70’s. Did custom work on them for many years, but ra has pretty much ended it. Moved to mexico and sold a bunch of them, after 10 years I am back and starting over.
I bought my very first tupperware (g17) a year ago but still love 1911’s. Can carry the glock easily, but choose the 1911’s.
Most 1911 problems are magazines, not all of course, but most. Some argue against it bug I like putting plastic Wilson follower kits in any welded mags. It has always fixed them for me.
The first thing I do with a 1911 is break it down and stone everything including the mag follower if metal, and lube. I have rarely had problems with any doing this first.
Way back I had one jam up and barely got the slide off because of a burr. Lots of mass produced leave burrs and edges.
Oh, almost forgot. Regret? Never.
