    That is a forearm brace, not vertical grip.

    While we are on this subject, does the SBA3 brace use a standard carbine receiver extension or not?

    If it does....

    Since this is a gray area could ATF potentially in the future rule that such a receiver extension might be "constructive intent" to install a rifle stock?

    No, I am NOT going to write them asking for clarification. Nor am I going to remove the receiver extension that uses the SBA3 unless necessary.

    I just wonder if I should have a pistol buffer on hand as a spare part that I can swap out for the SBA3's receiver extension should the BATFinks decide your extension must be a pistol extension.

    Yes, it does. Legally, you can use a bare, standard RE on a pistol.
