What 5.56 Pistol Upper Do You Recommend?

It just dawned on me that I have had a pistol lower sitting there in the shop for some time with no upper to mate to it. I just never got around to shopping for an upper as busy as I've been.

Here's your chance to tell me what you recommend.

Desired specs:

1. Medium to High Quality, with at least good BCG with proper staking, MPI, etc.
2. Capable of accepting old school M4 polymer handguards
3. 10.5 or 11.5 unless you have another flavor you prefer
4. Would prefer it have a flash hider.

What would you suggest?

I actually installed one of those on a previous pistol build. Good upper.

The BCM is good and I prefer 11.5 myself but if you wanted a 10.5 the PSA CHF one for $320 is not a bad deal though I suspect the antipsa and gas port Gestapo will disagree.

I’d nearly forgotten the Gasport Gestapo.

Aero owns Ballistic Advantage now, I’ve always had good luck with their barrels and have 10.5 Hanson in a couple pistols.

Midwest Industries shouldn't be discounted.

Not sure what either has in your desired upper, but worth looking.

What will it be used for?

Home defense, range trips. I plan to put a flashlight on it, maybe a Smith Vortex flash hider. Since you can't have a VFG on a pistol that's why I stick to the old school handguards. Those rails get HOT.

I use keymod rail covers on all my carbines. Magpul makes them for MLOK and I've heard they work well.

Use a BCM/Haley “KAG”, legal on pistols.

The BCM MLok rail covers had a habit of coming off on a couple guns I used them on, the KeyMod have always been GTG.
