I haven't seen a retail outlet sell it alone. Maybe an EE.

My only experience is with the SBM4 that I put on my pistol build.
I’m really surprised at how well it works.
I’d definitely recommend it.
Brownell's sell just the brace.

Why not just run a rifle stock?
The KAK “brace” is ideal for weight and size. Additionally, you do not need their special buffer tube; you can use a set screw on a regular pistol receiver extension. With that said, it became very uncomfortable against my chest/shoulder pocket over a two day carbine class.
I switched to the SBA3 shortly after the class. The rubber flaps were initially annoying (but not in a functionally deficient way). A Splitfix solved that.
I can imagine why the manufacturer would not include an item that precludes their brace being used as intended.
Can a pistol be legally SBR'ed? That's an option, but a pain in the ass. Right now I've emailed SB Tactical and I'm getting ready to email the makers of the Tailhook 2 asking them to make a pistol brace that fits the standard RE and doesn't involved floppy rubber flaps.
