The DD5 Bolt Carrier and Buffer/Spring System are engineered around a Carbine Receiver Extension. You wouldn't want to put those in a rifle length buffer tube. Since the Gen 3 PRS attaches to a Mil Spec receiver extension, you don't have to work about that. OEM Stock Off, PRS On and you're good to go.
Cool thank you

Can someone explain to me why a .308 is okay with a 16" barrel but a 6.5 Creedmore needs a longer one for better performance (like 18" or greater)? I mean a 6.5C is basically a necked-down .308, so it isn't like case capacity is considerably different.

F**k China!
Interesting new rifles, like the looks and feature set, and esp the addition of a 6.5 CM option.
On the adj gas block: nice to have but sounds like the only settings are basically suppressed or normal--which limits your ability to fine-tune for loads. Totally get that the trade-off is simplicity/reliability/manufacturing cost, versus offering more fine-tuned gas settings. Obviously this is less of an issue with .308. But with 6.5 CM, the ability to tune the gas more finely would be a requirement for me.

It matters most to people who want to go the distance (for those immortal shooters who go beyond 800-1000 yards). This cartridge has a lot of powder to burn and gets maximum benefit from more barrel length.

On the same token, it’s still an awesome load in a shorter barrel running suppressed.
DD rep: Thanks for the replies
I gave up a POF-308 to get an Ambush 308 about 6 months ago. I wasn’t sure about giving up a piston gun for a d.i.. I am very happy with my decision! I can’t say enough about how impressed I am with Daniel Defense products!
