These types of shennanigans are Circus nonsense.

Not saying it would matter much but the lower isn’t an MR556 or 416 lower.

Their tests seem to indicate that AR-pattern rifles are more resilient in the face of mud and sand then popular urban legend would have us think, as ARs have typically performed very well in their tests....but I also think that if you test enough ARs in the mud, eventually one is going to fail because there's no way of consistently controlling and repeating exactly where the mud goes into each individual weapon and how much gets in. I dunno as the MR556 being a piston gun had much, if anything to do with it.

Obviously once crud gets in the chamber or locking surfaces it is game over till cleaned. The tests just show most claims about reliability are not based on actual observations.

It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

I dont think thats true. They have value in slaying some sacred cows and figuring out weird quirks about different platforms. I dont think we would have discovered how the gas venting out the BC clearing debris contributes to reliability in the DI system. I certainly would have never thought about it.
If you watch all of them your start to see the emerging pattern where having a sealed receiver is the most important factor in keeping gunk out of your gun.
