    Zero preference for 11.5” 5.56

    I am finishing an 11.5” build and will be dialing it in shortly. I’ve always used a 36yd zero for both my 14.7” and 16” builds, but I’m hoping for some anecdotal examples of what zero people like for an 11.5” and why.

    Some info that might matter: Optic is an MRO, I will be using the rifle pretty much exclusively as a defensive tool and will be running a Saker on it. Thanks in advance!

    Lookup the 50yd zero and change all of your ARs to that. Secondary option could be 100m.

    100yd = zero
    200 = 4" high
    300 = 8"
    400 = 3'
    500 = 5'
    600 = 8'

    these are not exact holdovers, just rounded off as quick estimate for field expedience

    and yes, i have tested this at the range

    50 yard with an RDS.
    AQ planned for years and sent their A team to carry out the attacks, and on Flight 93 they were thwarted by a pick-up team made up of United Frequent Fliers. Many people look at 9/11 and wonder how we can stop an enemy like that. I look at FL93 and wonder, "How can we lose?". -- FromMyColdDeadHand

    100 yard zero for every AR in every length so that I have the same hold over at contact distance regardless of gun. I can't do different zeros for different lengths. My brain won't manage that.

    I prefer a 50 yard zero for both my 11.5 and 14.5 inchers.

    50 yard zero for almost every AR. Exception would be those with magnified optics with MRAD adjustments get 100yrd zeros.

    Similar- I do 1.25”-1.5”high and just use it as a 100yd zero, it just keeps it a but flatter at distance

    Whatever distance you choose as a zero I highly recommend you consider making all your rifles the same.
