The RDS are sighted in for 50 yards.

The MATEC and KAC BUIS are set at 25 and sighted in for that

55gr out of a 10.5” drops 3.5” at 200y with a 100y zero. That’s certainly still “center mass”.

The benefit with a 100y zero is that you always hold over, never under. This is important when people are shooting at you and a range finder isn’t a smart thing to be looking through.

50y zeroes are only useful with irons.

100 yard zero for every AR in every length so that I have the same hold over at contact distance regardless of gun. I can't do different zeros for different lengths. My brain won't manage that.

I love the 100 for that reason, but it’s easier to get a better zero at 50. Plus my Razor is designed for the 50 and I don’t want to have multiple zeros.

Is there a catch to "Z" versus other click setting on those 2 depending on barrel length when zeroing at 25 meters(or yards?)?

I zero my 11.5", 14.5" and 16" carbines with Aimpoints and iron sights at 50 yards. My AR15A4 (carry handle/iron sighted plinker) and Mk12ish build (4-12x40mm scope) are zeroed at 100 yards.
