That would be the correct word, because even though ATF classifies it as a suppressor, it doesn't do much. I don't completely understand why, but it seems like my Colt 6933 (11.5" barrel) with standard birdcage tames flash much more effectively than the XM177s. They seem to have mostly managed to get muzzle blast down to around M-16 levels more or less.Originally Posted by TomMcC

Yes, I've read that too. I wonder if there is a way to clean it by soaking it in some sort of solvent? I don't think you can take them apart.

Sometimes Europeans are better than us, or they used to be. First time I was in Germany I went to throw something away in a outdoor garbage can and it looked like the garbage was "organized." I didn't know how to throw my McDonalds cup away correctly without screwing up their system.
