I feel I have to constantly slide my body forward to load the bipod because of this excessive leg play. I never feel like I am in a correct shooting position. Body feels constantly stretched while laying prone.

Also, twice a moderate landing on the deployed legs has caused them telescope back to the short position.

It is easy to deploy and adjust on the fly, unlike an Atlas. I really wanted the Magpul to replace my Harris bipods that are full of sharp edges and pinch points.
Awwww....shoot. I literally had one in my cart at Primary Arms, this has me rethinking. I load my bipod hard and definitely would not appreciate the excessive leg play. One thing I can say about the Harris is it has always worked.....

Who uses Harris anymore...cheap people like me. I thought about trying other stuff out, but don't really feel my 15 year old Harris is holding me back. I might be wrong.

Atlas bipods are not suitable for on the fly field shooting. They are too slow to deploy. They are for lying and wait type situations.

Absolutely true. Atlas is a good long range pod.

My experience exactly. I think Pappabear got a damn good deal on my Atlas for this reason. I use a Harris now, it just makes sense for what I do.

My buddy is one of our SWAT snipers, and is a gun guy similar to myself. He uses a Magpul Bipod on his "quickset" rifle, as well as one on his AI AT 308. He has nothing but good things to say about them. As for me, I've been down that road with the Atlas and I'll just stick with the Harris.

I like mine. Have a Harris still on my bolt 308 but the Magpul works very nicely for the ARs. With there was a pic quick disconnect option from them, but I like both the Mlok and Pic rail options well enough to use them.

I ordered one to try. I needed a second one anyway, gives a good opportunity to compare pros/cons with the Harris.

Plus at least with the Magpul you know you are getting a quality product.

So what is wrong with Harris? I use them on most of my bolt guns with zero issues. Haven't really used a bipod on an AR yet.
