Has anybody looked at the video on the website. Besides the gaps in the handguard big enough for a cat to crawl through they use the gas tube for a guide rod.

I was also wondering why they stopped so short on the rail. 2.0 my have an improved rail. I imagine the gas tube is so thick because it has to take the full force of the rack.

If you want to try a non standard manual of arms, go for it.

The "dirt ingress" is a huge non issue. People playing commando swimming through mud may run into issues. Key word "may". Those of us that use our carbines realistically more than likely wont have any problems.

There is merit to a side charging system provided the location is ideal. I find that most forward charging systems ala a G3 put the cocking handle too far forward. Standing operating procedure for a failure to fire is to tap the magazine prior to working the action. With extremely far forward charging handles its harder to do this efficiently.

Buy it, see if you like it.
