I assumed your question about sending in to Sig was directed toward me. My response was no knock on your willingness to help.

Teh, my comment was directed at you, born of frustration. It's frustrating because when this problem comes up, it's the extractor spring. Yet, everyone suggests looking at everything but. Sig blended the feed ramp and- surprise surprise! - didn't fix the problem. It never will. I'm beginning to understand IGs sarcasm. I was being a dick, but I hope under the circumstances, you won't hold it against me.

All good man. We've both seen subpar extractor springs flatten after only a couple/few hundred rounds. I hope it's only that but I'm still skeptical.

Since I'm still very new to the AR platform, I'm trying to get all the help I can.I'm not real confident in Sig's ability to diagnose and solve the issue although that may be how it gets done. But doing that, leaves me still ignorant. I'm at a point where I want to learn something. Hence multiple forums, etc.

I did make it to the range today with just more and still disturbing finds. It is still having issues getting the bolt closed before an empty casing is cleared. Seems to be ejecting at 2:00 but may be bouncing off the deflector. Not sure. Will attempt some high speed video on next shooting. It also does not always completely chamber the live round as if the bolt just stops with the round about 3/4 in the chamber. Does not matter what ammo, magazine or when. Random but about 2 or 3 per magazine. The round can be very hard to get out and is bent and scratched badly. Several pix.....

I do plan to see what my dealer might do for me. Maybe they will take the rifle and handle the return. I was not real comfortable mailing it when it went back to Sig back in Dec. 2016, 9 months after purchase.

Have you taken Mist Wolf's suggestion reference new ejector spring?

EDIT: OOPS! I meant EXTRACTOR spring (take a look at the extractor while you are at it)

It wouldn't be a bad idea to look at the ejector spring, though.

Anytime you have fired cases floating around loose in your upper, extraction and ejection are issues to consider. Doesn't take much to check/replace.

Masterdrago, the base cause of your malfunction is definitely the extractor spring. The spring in your Sig is weak and the extractor cannot maintain its grip on the cartridge rim. When the extractor loses its grip, the ejector cannot eject the spent case, causing the malfunctions shown in your photos. Replace your extractor spring with a Colt or Sprinco M4 extractor spring. Replace your extractor spring with any other brand and you risk being right back where you are now.

As of this time, I have not. I will go ahead and order it today. Is this the one referenced? https://www.primaryarms.com/sprinco-...ade-kit-3-pack One other thing that I just thought to look at was the original buffer tube inside length. It appears to be about 3/8" shorter than the new POF tube (https://pof-usa.com/product/buffer-tube-anti-tilt-6/) I got when I replaced the arm brace with the Danial Defense buttstock (https://danieldefense.com/daniel-def...-mil-spec.html). Not sure why 3/8" would matter, but I thought might be worth mentioning.

One other note. You cannot see it is the images of the captured spent case but the new round has been fed into the chamber but obviously the bolt has not locked yet due to the interference by the case.

I believe that's the right extractor spring. If you get it, use the insert but do not use the O ring.

That's the spring. As MistWolf said, don't use the o-ring (if you have one). Initial install can be difficult due to the extra power.

The POF tube is longer overall because the detent lip is extended to "cradle the carrier", but action travel is no different from a standard RE.
