Aluminum vs polymer rails for attaching bipods.

For optics , I do mount them on aluminium rails. But for a bipod, does it matter on what type of rail i use? Instead of buying more alumium M-lok rails, i am thinking about using spare Magpul polymer rail i have around.

I used one for a long time. Never had any issues at all.

I’ve had a polymer one warp under pressure just on a VFG. I would not use polymer if I was going to load into a bipod.
AQ planned for years and sent their A team to carry out the attacks, and on Flight 93 they were thwarted by a pick-up team made up of United Frequent Fliers. Many people look at 9/11 and wonder how we can stop an enemy like that. I look at FL93 and wonder, "How can we lose?". -- FromMyColdDeadHand

If you load the bipod, which you should, they will warp and possibly break. I tried one as a stop-gap measure and the bipod kept coming loose because of it.

In addition... Pappabear had the Mlok pull/peel off of a gun with a bipod. Pic rail is really the only way to go for a loaded bipod.

I use the aluminum rail sections for bipods for the reason stated above.

The Arisaka Defense rails have three Mlok nuts which is a nice touch for a bipod.

I had a KMR that bent pretty bad on the first outing. No problems yet with Mlok but I prefer a pic rail at 6 o’clock for that reason as well.

When you say you mount optics on aluminum handguards, do you mean just a front site? Rds or scope should be mounted on the receiver
