    Vltor VIS carbine

Finally got my Vltor carbine upper put together. I wanted something very simple and very functional and I think I got it. Fixed FSB and a LT BUIS are as about as solid a iron sight combo as one can have. The Magpul CTR stock is very stable and strong.

For a barrel, I went "old school". With all of the excellent barrels available now, I wanted to use something chrome lined and with a medium to heavy profile. The barrel is a Colt SOCOM HB 14.5" 1/7 with the new Gemtech Phantom style bilock. Remember not too many years ago when these were considered "exotic?" It is an excellent barrel and truth be told, probably all 90% of us would ever need for a carbine. ( I can hear the 8 Noveskes in the safe threatening a mutiny. )

The VIS is simply outstanding and I can't begin to tell you what having the monolithic rail means for mounting your optics. Not having that normal gap where the barrel nut would be makes all the difference in the world. Special thanks to Eric at Vltor for the M203 index bracket. I appreciate his generosity very much.

    Parts list:
    -Vltor VIS carbine length
    -Colt M4 SOCOM HB 14.5" 1/7 w/ bilock
    -PWA lower, TD Battlegrip
    -LT BUIS
    -PRI Gas Buster
    -Colt MP bolt and carrier
    -Magpul CTR
    -EoTech 553

Get an aimpoint 3x magnifier and a LMT BCG, and you will have at least one product from all of the best manufacturers in the business.

Could this be considered a “politically correct” AR15?

    Very, nice setup.

I love it! I'm thinking about something similar but with a POF billet lower.
