It's true according to RSR. Not a complete discontinuation of civilian sales but more of a "not our current priority focus" regarding civie long guns. Clearly they are playing both sides of the fence and virtue signaling while playing the victim card at the same time. Honestly none of this is anything new for Colt.

I've gotten most everything I need from them, would have liked a 9mm SBR and a 20" barrel A4 but I'm pretty good to go. If they want to make all my LE colts collector items, that's fine.

I have no idea what's really going on but what I saw someone from RSR claimed that they were discontinuing production of all colt long guns to focus on regaining military contracts. Then they finished the email by helpfully noting they had some in stock. Just stinks of salesmen BS to me.
Let those who are fond of blaming and finding fault, while they sit safely at home, ask, ‘Why did you not do thus and so?’I wish they were on this voyage; I well believe that another voyage of a different kind awaits them.”

Wow so much oversensitivity over Colt being kinda behind on foreign orders and needing to play catch up. This happens and has happened a lot over the years. That’s why Colt, much like LMT and other, quality manufacturers have their little bouts of Feast and Famine.

And all it took was one dum-dum to send an email he likely wasn’t authorized to send to start sending people into a tizzy.

Even during the Ban; Colt still sold rifles even if they were neutered (but in compliance).

People think Colt has like this huge factory with elves singing songs and working in shifts. No. Very modest.

An amusing thread full of odd flexes, gross mischaracterizations, a lot of Brand X is just as good as, and other such tomfoolery

But colt isn’t the one that did any of that. They seem to have differed some orders because they had a contract to fill. Someone got over zealous and now we are here.

Colt website shows almost all their rifles "out of stock." Except for the Retro rifles.

LOL. The only thing they lied about was having a few in stock. They had almost NOTHING in stock with recent talks of AR bans. They've been a go to supplier for decades and have usually told me what was what when lots of variations of a story are flying around.

They have also removed several Colt models from their catalog as they don't seem to expect them to be resupplied any time soon. Wonder if this means we won't be getting the rest of those Colt marked "legacy" rifles, given that they aren't actually made at Colt.

Doesn't Grant (G and R) have a line of communication with Colt? Might be worth checking that out if one is so inclined.

I had to have Colt do warranty work on a rifle a year or two ago. When I asked them how long it would take the guy told me (paraphrased) "I can't tell you that because if any type of government contract comes in all commercial work is stopped until the contract work is completely fulfilled."
