    Really?
Did they come up with a reason or just realized it on the targets?

Roger that. I have not tested the blackout for accuracy improvment so will have to take his word for it.

Yes. This was several years ago that this test was run. They were shooting for groups and say an improvement.

Other than the A2, the Vortex is one of the most used FS in the US Military.

When we are matching up 16" (or 14.5") chrome-lined barrels with 55 gr / 62 gr military ball ammo, I have a feeling that any "accuracy increase" from a fancy aftermarket flash hider is really going to be a preoccupation with inconsequential increments.

+1 to scottryan... makes sense on a shorty.

Good to know, I have one, but I never shoot from the prone or bench rest that gun...never noticed...maybe I suck

The Blackout is appealing because it's a bit shorter- but also costs a few bucks more.

The accruacy saw was on the 249 (not an M4).

I imagine the accruacy difference would be similar to that is commonly seen with a suppressor (1/3in).

You would basically have to install the A2 fire groups and then clean the weapon, let it cool and shoot groups with the Vortex to see any kind of difference I think.

I have a vortex on my 7.62 GAP bolt gun- shoots around 1/2 MOA depending on how much coffee I drink. I have honestly not shot without it, but it obviously doesn't hurt accuracy.

    Blackout flash suppressor

A couple of weeks ago I purchased a ACC Blackout from Grant at GR Tactical. Mounted it a few days ago with no problems. By a stroke of luck, it aligned perfectly on my LMT 16" upper, though alignment is not important. Went to the range today and shot my new setup. I didn't do any comparison testing, but I swear it improved my rifles accuracy with LC XM193 FMJ.

Right you are, but we're talking about a 50 dollar flash hider here, not a $600 action and trigger job on a bolt gun, just for that same 1/3 inch. More so with match ammo.
